Café Casa provide a variety of coffee beans that are well suited for coffee machines located in coffee shops, offices and homes. Not all coffee beans in the packet may be needed at once, though, and will need to be stored for a later time or date.
Your coffee beans must be stored correctly if you want to keep on serving high-quality beverages. Here is how to correctly store your coffee beans to keep them fresh and maximise flavour, focusing on three important aspects.
Buy the right amount.
Coffee begins to lose its freshness right after roasting, but you can help prevent spoiled coffee beans by purchasing the amount you need.
Café Casa provides wholesale bags (6) of our Finca Blend coffee beans, but we can also supply just the single bag if that is better suited to your requirements. This may be best if you have a home coffee machine or a small coffee shop, for example.
Buying just the right amount will make your coffee beans easier to store.

Use an airtight container.
Air, moisture, heat and light are coffee beans’ worst enemies.
To preserve their roasted flavour for as long as possible, it is a good idea to invest in an airtight container. And whilst coffee beans can be beautiful to look at and can add to the ambience of any coffee shop, it is best to store them in a cool dark place within an opaque container. Remember, exposure to light can have a negative impact on your coffee beans.
It may also be a good idea to divide your beans into several smaller portions.

Do not freeze.
It’s actually quite common for people to buy their coffee beans in large quantities and then freeze them. Experts agree, though, that this shouldn’t be done.
Freshness is critical to a good cup of coffee, and you should consume your beans as quickly as possible, which is why we suggested buying only what you need and storing them correctly.
Coffee beans are what’s called “hygroscopic”, which means they absorb moisture and odours from the air surrounding them. Freezing your coffee beans may therefore present an unusual smell and taste when consumed.
